NAFAS Judges
NAFAS JUDGES are qualified at Area and National level. Qualification Tests for Area Judges are held regularly within each Area. NAFAS Judges undergo rigorous training in order to qualify and make unbiased decisions before allocating awards. They are available to judge at Flower Club Competitions and Flower Arranging Shows, whatever the size or location, and are happy to give constructive comments on matters relating to competitive work.
Lynn Bottamley
NAFAS Area Judge
Lynn Bottamley was a florist for over twenty years and after a change of career in 2003, joined Scunthorpe Flower Club because she missed flowers so much.
Lynn became an Area Judge in 2012 and enjoys all aspects of competitive work. She is a successful competitor at all levels and is more than happy to offer advice on exhibiting, show planning and schedule writing.

Pauline Foster
NAFAS Area Judge

As well as being a NAFAS Area Judge, Pauline is also a keen competitor, achieving frequent successes in both local and national flower shows, including two silver medals at RHS Chelsea Flower Show. As a teacher she is always keen to encourage students to enter shows and to pass on her knowledge and experience of judging and exhibiting to individuals and Clubs.
In 2015 she represented the North Midlands Area in the national heat to decide the British representative for the World Flower Show and in 2017 she represented the Area again in the ‘Designer of the Year’ competition at the NAFAS National Show in Blackpool.
Pauline is currently the Area Judges Representative.

Moira Galloway
NAFAS Area Judge
Moira Galloway is a Past President of the North Midlands Area of NAFAS. Moira qualified as a NAFAS Judge in 2012 – in her words, a major, significant and substantial achievement.
Always willing to motivate, encourage and share her knowledge base, Moira is never happier than applying her judging skills to shows/competitions/local Club events and for the WI Group. Sharing and extending further her love of the elements and principles of design to judging in many different environments.
Moira currently resides in the idyllic Wolds area of Lincolnshire. She is a member of Grimsby Flower Lovers’ Club.

Jane Walden
NAFAS Area Judge

Jane lives in Keyworth, near Nottingham and has been a member of Nottingham Flower Club since 1980. She started competing at 7 years of age whilst living in Peterborough. Due to work and family commitments a long break from competing was necessary. A change of career in 1999 with formal qualifications, managing a Florist’s shop, creating bespoke wedding flowers and teaching leisure classes was the chance to start competing again. The natural progression was into judging to understand competitive work more fully. Jane became an Area Judge in 2012.
Jane is the NAFAS representative at the Nottinghamshire Show for the Floral Art competition. There is always a challenge to keep up to date with current trends with the staging and schedule writing.
Jane is available to judge at Flower Clubs and judges many floral art competitions at local horticultural shows. Help will always be given for schedule writing, with many ideas for appropriate themes and class titles.
